Happy Monday! Thank you all for the wonderful conferences last week. There is nothing like actually sitting down and catching up on the accomplishments of our Firsties and setting goals for the year! Please know that you can email me anytime with questions or thoughts regarding your student. I hope you were able to stay cool today. We did our best here. Regardless of the heat we had a productive and fun day!
A few quick reminders about the week:
Bake Sale - Tomorrow is our class bake sale. If you are sending donation items please drop them off in our classroom or the office in the morning. If you are coming to help sell goodies, we can use you at either 10am or 12pm. Thanks in advance for all the help!
Book Reports - Book reports are due Wednesday and we will share a few reports each day this week in class. Students are invited to dress as their book character on Halloween Day which is after they have done their presentation.
Red Ribbon Week - Red Ribbon Week begins on Wednesday. I attached a copy of the calendar to this week’s homework packet. Both of those documents are also attached to this post. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Field Trip Permission Slip & Class Shirts - Thank you to the families, who have already returned their field trip forms. If you have not had a chance to sign yours please do so as soon as possible. I also sent home your class t-shirt order forms. please send those back as soon as possible with your student’s t-shirt size so that we can put in the order.
Thank you all for the incredible work that you do daily for your little learners. I genuinely appreciate it and they do too.

Hello Wonderful Parents,
Welcome to a new week of 1st Grade! I am excited to announce that the new R.E.D. Reading Program will start tomorrow for our class. Look out for the folder in your students backpack. It come with a copy of instructions, a reading log, comprehension questions, and best of all a 1st grade level reading book!
These books are property of the school so please help us preserve them. If you have any questions please email me anytime.

Good Morning Parents,
Happy 4th week of school! This week we will be finishing our STAR Testing, working more on Maps & Models, and exploring light and shadows. Tomorrow is our annual Back to School Night. The event begins at 6:30pm. There are three 20 minute sessions available for parents. You are asked to attend one session with each of your children's teachers. I look forward to seeing you there.

Here are a few pieces of information about this week:
This week we are finishing our STAR testing, so be sure to put our little learners to bed early and get a good breakfast in before school.
Our first P.E. class will be help on Wednesday. On P.E. days, students are asked to wear their red P.E. shirts, and their uniform shorts. Students who already have thier P.E. uniforms are asked to wear them wednesday. Students who have not yet recieved their P.E. uniform may dress in their usual uniform clothes. If you still need to order a P.E. uniform, please contact Mrs. Duran in the school office.
Our class mass day is Thursday of each week. Being ontime to mass is very important. Please try to arrive to school early on our mass day to help our class have time to drop off our backpacks before church. Students who are late on our mass days, need to report to the school office.
Labor Day Weekend
Enjoy the holiday! School will resume on Tuesday.
Back to School Night
Wednesday, September 6th is our annual Back to School Night event. We will be discussing many events you will be planning for during the year, our new reading log system, first grade procedures, field trips fundraisers and more. Please mark your calendars.

This week is our first full week in first and I for one am very excited! I have attached my Weekly Newsletter to this post. It contains the weeks homework, spelling list, topics being covered in class, and a list of upcoming events.
We also begin STAR Testing this week, so please be sure to help our student perform at their best by getting them to be early and having a hearty breakfast in the morning.
